Alpine Veterinary Medical Centre - Good at first...

Written by Stacie on July 3, 2011

Was a great clinic when it first opened, but the cost got out of control and unfortunately, this tainted every visit for me. When you start to question whether your vet is making decisions based on the best interest of your animal or based on the $$ they'll make if they keep the dog extra long/insist on extra unnecessary tests/etc, it's time to move on.

All Paws Veterinary Clinic - Great service & prices

SO glad to have another choice for a vet clinic in town. Prices are the best in town, reasonable almost, which is unheard of for a vet clinic around here. Staff is caring and awesome to deal with.

Whitehorse Motors - FANTASTIC service

Written by Stacie on July 3, 2011

I was in the market for a new(ish) vehicle this past Feb, and hit every dealer in town. Whitehorse Motors was beyond expectations, fabulous customer service, totally knowledgeable and didn't come across as overbearing and annoying. It was a truly pleasant experience, even though I was dreading the whole thing when I started. I got follow-up calls, after the transaction was done, I feel like "part of the family" even though I bought a Subaru, haha! I go back for regular maintenance/oil changes and they are prompt, courteous and friendly.

Integra Tire - Gas station good

But the auto repair is beyond horrid. I only go there for propane which has AWESOME service. Nice new store too! So I give a 3 to take into account the crappy auto repair part of the business.

Fountain Tire - Crap rip-off service

Written by Stacie on July 3, 2011

Totally stopped going to these guys when they tried to get me to pay a $500(!!) re-stocking fee for an engine I ordered, then changed my mind within 24 hrs. They said it would take 2 weeks for it to be shipped but the very next day after I ordered it, when I called to cancel the order - claimed that it was already here (magically!) and that I had to pay $500. I laughed into the phone it was so ridiculous. It probably didn't even get into a truck down south where they ordered it.

I'd rather go ANYWHERE else.

MEADIA Solutions - Appreciate the reply!

Just wanted to say I really appreciate you commenting on all the reviews(good & bad) Trevor - and acknowledging our frustrations earlier on. Because of your attentiveness and concern for customer service, I will definitely be visiting you at the new location and give your company another try! Great to hear things have improved, I look forward to seeing the new digs. :)

Capital Towing - worst customer service

Written by Stacie on March 19, 2011

2 experiences now with these guys in the last few months and their definition of customer service is this: "be really rude and short to the customer on the phone. Make it seem like we're doing them a FAVOUR even though they're paying us (a lot). When arriving at the vehicle, continue to treat customer like crap and refuse to take a credit card # (even though we told the customer we would on the phone), insist on cash - always! Charge inconsistently every time as well - $120 for 25km north of town, $84 for 25km south of town... then, for good measure, grunt like you're a caveman and drive off with their vehicle."

So sad that they are the contractors for BCAA. I wonder if Capital knows BCAA sends out a survey after a call about the service received...

Deck @ High Country Inn - Whoops!

Written by Stacie on February 23, 2010

Meant to give it more than a 1 star - any way to change that??

Deck @ High Country Inn - Changes a lot

Used to love the HCI deck. Still love it in summer for beer, but the newest menu is limited and overpriced. What happened to the cheap bbq burger?!?!

Real Canadian Superstore - big box store, but generous to community!

Written by Stacie on February 23, 2010

What do you expect for your typical big-box store... it is frustrating with the line-ups and lack of stock in the summer months. But! I have to say, we asked Superstore for a donation for our local dogsled race and they came through immediately with a very generous donation! That goes a long way!

MEADIA Solutions - Rather order online

Written by Stacie on February 23, 2010

Last time I went in there, I ended up waiting while the owner repeatedly answered and helped people on the phone instead of helping me. Apparently call-ins take precedence over walk-ins. I came in to pick up my computer which was repaired and was there for over an hour! Crappy customer service, it's practically faster for me to order my Apple stuff online and much less hassle. I certainly don't feel valued as a customer while in his store so ordering online is what I'll keep doing!
